The Afghanistan Center for Excellence (ACE) is an Afghan owned professional services company. We support national and international stakeholders from the public and private sectors in their quest to tackle pressing social and economic issues the country faces. As part of our fundamental mission, we hope to nurture an entrepreneurial culture in Afghanistan where innovation and adaptability are held at a premium. Through our extensive and engaged network of public and private sector leaders and institutions, we develop and implement pragmatic solutions to Afghanistan’s most critical development challenges. Established in 2012, ACE is headquartered in Kabul with regional offices and presence in Jalalabad, Mazar, Herat, and Kandahar. ACE is managed by a core team of around 50 experienced Afghans with an additional 200 project-based team members (women represent 30% of our core team). Our diverse and dynamic team of experts provide turnkey solutions in effective and culturally appropriate ways.

Rafiullah Sherzad has his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Cornell University, N.Y. with concentration in Economic and Financial Policy. Rafiullah completed his Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) from Preston University in Peshawar, Pakistan. Read extended bio, here.


Suleman Fatimie earned his MBA in the UK. Prior to establishing the Afghanistan Center for Excellence, he served as the CEO of Harakat-Afghanistan Investment Climate Facility and CEO of the Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan. Read extended bio, here.


Sahar Afshar serves as a Finance Assistant at ACE. She received her Bachelor of Management and Business Administration degree from Kabul University in December, 2019, with a concentration in Finance and Marketing. Read extended bio here.


Ajmal Kamran is a graduate of the National Institute of Management and Administration (NIMA) in Afghanistan, and an undergraduate student at Bakhtar University. At ACE, Ajmal serves as a Project Officer for the ERIN program, supporting the re-integration of Afghan returnees from Europe. Read extended bio, here.


Sadam Zadran holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts from Kabul University. Sadam Zadran has gained experience in communications working for different organizations, including Killid Group, Saba TV, and the Deputy Ministry of Youth Affairs. Read extended bio, here.

Mir Mowdood Omaid has acquired his Bachelor degree from University of South Wales, United Kingdom in Business and Management. He has more than 10 years of professional experience working in Afghanistan. Read extended bio, here.


Masood Ahmad holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bakhtar University in Afghanistan.  Masood began his career at the Afghanistan Investment Climate Facility where he worked for several years. Read extended bio, here.


Grace Escamilla received her MA in Conflict, Security and Development from King’s College London and brings experience from 8 different countries working with organizations from local NGOs to UN agencies.She serves as programme specialist with ACE. Read extended bio, here

Taha Qahraman earned Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Dunya university. He recently joined ACE as employment service coordinator and after shor period he promoted to Human Resource Expert. Taha has over five years of experiences in Human Resource Management. He has worked as HR Officer, Senior HR Officer and Training Coordinator with national and international firms.

Eidullah Mustafa serves as Senior M&E Manager at ACE. He has more than 8 years of professional experience managing the M&E of development projects for donors including IFAD, DFID and DANIDA. He has a wide range of experience specifically in agriculture, livestock, and rural development.

Jasmine Opie received her BA in Philosophy in 2016 from Harvard University, with a minor in Environmental Science and Public Policy. In 2017, she received an MA in Philosophy from Central European University in Budapest. Zubair Ahmadi graduated from the American University of Afghanistan with a BA in Business Administration. Since graduation, Zubair has gained experience working in both the public and private sectors, specializing in finance, procurement, auditing, and skill development. Read extended bio, here.


Mr. Ali Sina Zafari is currently working at ACE as a finance assistant. His main areas of focus are managing petty cash accounts and reconciliations, checking all purchase/procurement process and expenditures, issuing and clearing monthly advances to field/regional offices, filing, data entry, and recording.


Ms. Atiya Khairzad currently works as a Project Assistant at the Afghanistan Center for Excellence (ACE). Her specific role provides consultancy support to NES, an ITC-funded project at the EPD Directorate of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoIC). Farhad Ahmad Mohammadzai is a Fulbright Scholar with an MBA in Finance from Clark University in the US. His career focus has been on private equity and investment banking.
