Expert for Industry Development and Trade Facilitation

 

 

Baraimal Jeryan is a member of the ACE – Pri-SEC team as Expert for Industry Development and Trade Facilitation. Mr. Jeryan is committed to leveraging his knowledge of international trade and trade policy formulation, trade and investment incentive development, trade policy analysis, and bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations to support Afghanistan’s private sector development. He has honed his expertise in various roles within the Afghanistan Ministry of Industry and commerce (MoIC) over the last 13 years, including most recently as Director for Trade Analysis and Promotion. During his tenure at MoIC, Mr. Jeryan’s achievements included developing the Afghanistan National Trade policy and the Afghanistan National Priority for Private Sector Development, re-operationalizing Afghanistan Commercial Attaché offices in 16 countries, and establishing the Trade Remedies Office. In addition, Mr. Jeryan has  served on the National Board of Food Safety, the National Trade Facilitation Committee, and the National Board for Investment Support, and has represented Afghanistan in a number of bilateral trade negotiations and international policy dialogue platforms. Baraimal holds an MBA from Kardan University in Kabul, Afghanistan, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics, also from Kardan University. Mr. Jeryan also holds numerous professional certificates and an advanced diploma in trade policy from the WTO Institute in Geneva, Switzerland.
