Mir Mowdood Omaid serves at ACE as the Director of Finance and Administration.
Mowdood began his career in 2005, working for the Agency for Rehabilitation and Energy Conservation as an accountant. Over the next several years, Mowdood gained further experience in finance and administration working for a number of different organizations in Afghanistan, to include the Afghan Women’s Educational Center, the Bakhtar Development Network, and Development Alternatives International (DAI).
In 2008, Mowdood took on his first financial monitoring role, with the German International Cooperation Organization (better known for its German acronym, GIZ). In this position Mowdood prepared annual reports on the financial status of 65 GIZ projects being implemented across various provinces, as well as ensuring that projects were in compliance with internal financial procedures.
Following his work with GIZ, Mowdood provided financial accounting support for several USAID projects in Afghanistan; first as Finance Manager for the Afghan Secure Futures (ASF) project, and then as Senior Finance Accountant for the Skills Training for Afghan Youth (STAY) project. He continued building his experience in development sector finance at the Electoral Support Organization of Afghanistan, as Finance Manager, and then as Finance Controller at the Landell Mills Limited Office in Kabul.
In March 2019, Mowdood was recruited by ACE to lead its Finance and Administration Department.
Mowdood received a diploma in Accounting and Finance in 2011 from the Abaseen Institute of Medical and Modern Science, in Islamabad, Pakistan. In 2014, Mowdood received his Bachelor of Business Management degree from the University of South Wales.
