Export Procedure Simplification, 2018

Private Sector Reform Assessment, in collaboration with PriSEC, (Executive Committee on Private Sector Development)

PriSEC conducted a flash assessment of the Export Procedure Simplification reform passed in 2018 to assess its implementation status, effectiveness, and preliminary impact. The assessment suggests that the reform has been implemented at some, but not all, customs offices and recommends that implementing actors conduct training for customs staff and awareness raising for traders, eliminate new procedural steps outside of the reformed procedures, and improve coordination and information-sharing.
