In January 2019, Rafiullah Sherzad was appointed as CEO of the Afghanistan Center for Excellence (ACE). Mr. Sherzad has more than 12 years of experience in in the private, development, and education sectors, with areas of expertise that include education, social entrepreneurship, economics, and policy development.

 

Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Sherzad has served in a number of notable roles, to include Director of the Rana Institute in Jalalabad, Acting Director of the Afghanistan Investment Climate Facility Organization – Harakat, and Head of Award and Partner Management at Save the Children Afghanistan.

 

Rafiullah received his graduate education at Cornell University, in New York, through the prestigious Fulbright scholarship program. He earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Cornell in 2014, with a concentration in Economics and Financial Policy. Rafiullah completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Preston University in Peshawar, Pakistan.

 

The position of CEO at ACE was formerly held by Syed Kamal, who served with distinction at ACE for four years. ACE wishes Mr. Kamal the best of luck in his future ventures.
