Truck Delays at Torkham Border Crossing

PriSEC recently conducted an assessment of export vehicle delays at the Torkham border and provided recommendations for how to expedite the process of trade across this border. Key recommendations included prioritizing clearance of perishable goods during the peak season, increasing the working hours of customs to 24/7, developing the infrastructure at the border crossing, and monitoring compliance of customs staff to agreed mechanisms. As a result, 700 hundred trucks have now been cleared – almost doubling the previous tally of 400. For the full article, click on the link above.
