The AACRS seeks to improve resilience and livelihoods in rural Afghan communities.

ACE is responsible to play the role of Scheme Coordinator on this project. Since June 2017, ACE has been performing below activities to strengthen coordination between NGOPs, GIROA, and DFAT, which will result into NGOPs achieving their goals set out by the AACRS project until May 2018.

  • ACE is bridging the communications gap between NGOPs, GIROA and DFAT for enhancing collaborative opportunities and to refine the project approaches in future.
  • ACE is visiting the AACRS field activities to ensure cross learning opportunities among NGOPs staff.
  • ACE is regularly reporting the AACRS progress to GIROA and DFAT on behalf of NGOPs.

International Returns and Reintegration Assistance (IRARA), a non-governmental organization incorporated in Belgium is implementing the ERIN specific action program funded by the European Union (EU) in Afghanistan, Pakistan and a number of other countries. ACE is a local partner and sub-contractor to IRARA in Afghanistan.

ACE provides initial counseling and reintegration services to enable more than 3000 returnees coming to Afghanistan from different countries in Europe to help them build up their lives in home country (Afghanistan) and to make them part of the regular society. The returnees journey to Afghanistan has been started and will be completed in 3 years. The services include: airport pick up, provision of a 24/7 emergency telephone number, single point of contact, counselling and referral on key meetings, provision of emergency housing, facilitating and organizing the onward travel, job counseling, medical support, social support, legal support, facilitating, providing, and delivering both technical and vocational training, and supporting with starting up a small business for returnees. The above services will be provided on case by case basis; considering the situation of the returnee.

GITR aims to coach and connect startups to compete GITR in Kabul on March 29th, 2018. The local event was a selection pitch for the Global Startup Competition of the Get in the Ring Foundation planned to take place in Portugal from May 29 to Jun 1, 2018. Get in the Ring (www.getinthering.co) aim to support startups globally in making connections to investors and business leaders. The concept started as a pitch competition where 2 startups battle in a ring in front of jury members and large audiences during a highly energetic and fun show. Over the past years, GITR has grown into much more than just a startup competition. GITR is now active in 80+ countries, organizing more than 130 events every year and working with over 10,000 startups. Startups can take part in the competition, but also in pitch trainings, corporate innovation challenges and speed dating.

GITR is an opportunity for collaborations with those who share passion for startups and innovations.

GIZ – Ostad Shagerdi (OS) https://ace.af/giz-ostad-shagerdi-os/ Fri, 27 Jul 2018 17:01:31 +0000 http://ace.support.af/?p=16551 Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit(GIZ) GmbH, is funded through the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), launched an ambitious program to support the Afghan Deputy Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (DM TVET) in 5 provinces of Afghanistan to increase access to vocational training for as many Afghans as possible.

GIZ contracted ACE to provide consulting, coaching, monitoring of OS pilot schools  in Khost & Kandahar Provinces.

Under this project ACE is responsible for below activities:

  1. Management of the consulting, coaching and monitoring team;
  2. Activities to understand the OS-approaches of the TVET program, this will include:  Studying basic research documents on the OS and participation in workshops and trainings about school management and administration, teaching approaches, class observations;
  3. Consulting, coaching of the pilot schools on behalf of the program and GIZ;

Monitoring and coaching of the teachers on behalf of the program and GIZ.

The Agha Khan Foundation – Afghanistan (AKF-A) contracted ACE a portion of its three years project on girls’ education that mandates to attract girl students interest in science by establishing a number of science clubs in 13 schools of Baghlan province.

Under this contract, ACE in responsible to achieve below deliverables:

 

  • Develop a Student Club Handbook
  • Develop Inter-School Competition (Olympiad) activity guide and training manual
  • Conduct a Training of Trainers (ToT) on the Student Club Handbook and Inter-School Competition activity guide to AKF-A staff, district level government, supervisors/educators, and government school science teachers and educators.

In this assignment, ACE was required to conduct 10 days training for FMFB in credit risk management to;

  • Enhance the ability of partner FMFB to appraise the risk of loan applications and to control delinquency through the deployment of the new Risk Officers.
  • To promote more effective FMFB operations by supporting the ongoing reorganization into sales and risk assessment arms of the front office staff.

ACE conducted a four-day TOT for 15 branch managers of the Afghanistan International Bank (AIB). The TOT covered training needs assessment skills, drafting and developing training material, and training facilitation skill included but not limited to utilizing power point presentations, use of body language, discussing and focusing on main objectives of the training session while delivering a training, how to show data visibility and ensure class/participants’ interaction and class discussion, while using the adult learning model.

In this assignment ACE was required to develop a coherent set of processes, procedures and rules in written form to which the recovery officers can refer to in the course of their work and deliver the same through a two days training. Furthermore, the objective of this assignment was to;

-Lay the basis for an effective and efficient Recovery Unit of AIB that is able to increase recoveries by this partner bank of ACGF.

Provision of Co-Working Space https://ace.af/provision-of-co-working-space/ Fri, 27 Jul 2018 16:40:05 +0000 http://ace.support.af/?p=16537 Under this service, ACE provides the clients with access to DAFTAR office space, workstations, internet access, security arrangements, admin and logistics support, and office equipment (including printer, and scanner) from within DAFTAR which is located in Kart-e-3, House 385 Street 5 District 6 and Shar-e-Naw;  Esmat Muslim Street, opposite to Haj-o-Awqaf Administration. These services are provided 5 days a week (Sunday – Thursday) from 8:00am to 5:30pm. The services at all times are subject to a written agreement between ACE and the clients. The clients are also allowed to access other common facilities of DAFTAR including meeting rooms, conference rooms, gym, prayers room, training facility, tea/coffee shop, and library.

ITC – Branding and Communications Support https://ace.af/branding-communications-support/ Fri, 27 Jul 2018 16:35:33 +0000 http://ace.support.af/?p=16535 The ACE – WeBrand team has led the media management and communications strategy development components of ACE services through info-graphics, videography and branding tools. WeBrand provided market solutions to ITC, KHANAGi, AICS, YumYum and many others.

WeBrand created a 3 minutes video to display work environment at ACE; created a 10 minutes movie for the International Trade Center (ITC) that documents the Afghanistan’s journey to export competitiveness, from the need for an export strategy over to strategy development and implementation as well as created video clips for high profile Afghan executives for a EU funded advancing trade project in Afghanistan.  They included interviews for the Deputy Minister MOCI; Ms. Kamila Seddiqi, CEO ACCI; Mr. Atiq Nusrat, DG ANSA; Mr. Faiq and saffron sector expert; Mr. Aslami to document their contribution to the development of Afghanistan National Trade Policy and Afghanistan National Export Strategy.

WeBrand also designed a 100 pages report for AICS.

WeBrand is currently busy designing a tri-fold brochure to promote the vision and aims of the Afghanistan National Export Strategy (NES) for ITC; Prepear them a layout for the Dari version of the NES and six sector specific strategies including carpet, marble and granite, saffron, fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits and nuts, precious stones and jewelry as well as to produce ITC a box set for the 7 strategy documents, holding them together.
